Blogpost #7; The Hobbit

After reading the book for awhile I've noticed just how generally convinient the events in the book are. How Gandalf chose Bilbo to join his quest out of no particularly good reason,how Bilbo just happened to find his company randomly in the middle of nowhere after being completely seperated for days. Even though this seems to be happenning just to keep the story going, the author just makes it work somehow. One theory I have is The Ring. The Ring has a mind of its own. All it wants to do is get back to its Master. It can bend people's will and even the rules of probability. The Ring wanted Bilbo to find it becuase it wasn't getting anywhere with Gollum. I,ve yet to see the tempt Bilbo yet which is very strange, i guess it's because Bilbo doesn't know about the rings true power therefore can't be tempted by it. The Ring is a power not to be taken lightly, I have the feeling that if Bilbo keeps using it for days the end result is going to be disasterous.
